SLO County Airport Upcoming Changes in Air Service

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA — SLO County Airport (SBP) is pleased to share upcoming changes to air service that will enhance connectivity for travelers while reflecting evolving airline strategies.

  • Starting Wednesday, March 19, Alaska Airlines will resume daily nonstop service to Portland (PDX), offering passengers convenient access to the Pacific Northwest. The return of this route marks a significant step in restoring key connections for both business and leisure travelers.
  • On Monday, April 21, Alaska Airlines will conclude its seasonal daily direct flight to Las Vegas (LAS). Passengers are encouraged to explore alternative routes through connecting flights available at SBP.
  • Beginning Monday, May 5, American Airlines plans to change its daily direct flight to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) by transitioning from an Airbus A319 to a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. This change will increase seat capacity from 124 to 162, adding 38 more available seats per flight. The transition to the larger aircraft will provide travelers with expanded seating availability and improved travel experience on this important route.

“We are thrilled to welcome back nonstop service to Portland, accommodate growing demand for Dallas/Fort Worth, and continue working with our airline partners to optimize air travel options for our region,” said Courtney Johnson, Director of Airports. “These changes reflect SBP’s ongoing commitment to providing enhanced connectivity and convenience for our passengers.”
