SLO County Airport, Operations Temporarily Suspended

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA — At this time, there are no arriving or departing flights at the SLO County Airport (SBP). Passengers are strongly encouraged to check directly with their airline for the latest updates before coming to the airport.

This temporary suspension of air service is due to a complete power and communications outage at the Santa Barbara Air Traffic Control Tower and Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON). The Santa Barbara facility is responsible for managing the safe and efficient operation of aircraft arrivals, departures, and overflights across the Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, and San Luis Obispo regions.

“This situation is entirely outside of our local control, however we want our passengers to know that we’re doing everything we can to stay informed and to share updates as quickly and clearly as possible,” said Courtney Johnson, Director of Airports. “The safety of everyone in our airspace remains the top priority, and we appreciate the public’s patience and understanding.”

Updates will be shared on the airport’s website and social media channels as information becomes available.
