San Luis Obispo, CA –The SLO County Airport (SBP) is happy to share continued positive growth in passenger numbers for calendar year (CY) 2024, reflecting a robust year and expansion in air travel demand.
- Total Passenger Increase: Passenger traffic at SBP has surged by 13.2% in CY 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. This growth is further highlighted by the results of the third quarter (Q3), where total passengers were up 15.2% over Q3 2023.
This continued upward trend in passenger numbers underscores the community’s strong interest in air travel, as well as the airport’s efforts to expand services and meet growing demand.
- Direct Flights to Las Vegas Return: SBP is also thrilled to remind residents of the region that Alaska Airlines will resume its daily direct flights to Las Vegas starting on October 27, 2024. This route will offer convenient non-stop travel to the Entertainment Capital of the World, with a limited seasonal service through April 25, 2025.
Travelers looking to enjoy a quick getaway or those on business trips will now be able to take advantage of this convenient connection to one of the most popular destinations in the United States.
Courtney Johnson, Director of Airports, shared her enthusiasm for the airport’s recent achievements: “The increase in passenger numbers and the return of direct service to Las Vegas reflect the growing demand for air travel in our region. We’re committed to addressing that demand by offering more convenient and efficient travel options for our community. The reintroduction of the Las Vegas route is just one example of how we’re expanding connectivity and enhancing the accessibility of key destinations.”
